Back in May we attempted to do a GR Walks Historical downtown riverwalk tour, but we were rained out. So for our August meeting we were able to somewhat successfully complete the walking-tour. It did turn into quite the urban adventure. We encountered construction on the riverwalk which forced us to detour up to street level, then engaged with a very nice policeman who was guarding a bridge due to the Vice President’s visit to Grand Rapids. We persevered past the obstacles and completed the tour, even if some of the points of interests were only enjoyed from afar!
