We would like to announce our Chapter’s Design Drafting Competition winner’s. The top scoring students for Chapter 194 were:

1. Zach Vitunskas
2. Hunter Graves
3. Evan Cowdrey

The project involved designing a visitors center for the USS Cod Submarine Memorial in Cleveland, Ohio. We had six high school students step up to the challenge, five first timers and one who competed last year as well. It was interesting to see the five very different designs that the students came up with. Sadly, one student was very sick as the competition wrapped up and was unable to complete his project.

Construction Angels is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation that provides immediate financial assistance and grief counseling to the children and spouse left behind when a construction worker has a fatality on the job site. They also offer construction scholarship opportunities to qualified applicants, and additional scholarships to surviving children of a fallen worker.

Construction Angels is running an auction from now until May 15 to raise money for their programs to help those families who have lost someone in a construction accident. We encourage everyone to visit the auction site, and consider making a bid on an item, or even contributing an item for bid.
Donations are tax deductible. If you have an item you would like to donate and as well they are also accepting sponsors for $100 and highlighting them on the website across the U.S. for the Auction. If you are interested and have questions, please contact CEO Kristi Gibbs mailto:
