2017-2018 was a successful year in Grand Rapids. Our year was full of a variety of events and meetings. We hosted several job site tours where we visited brand new Embassy Suites in downtown Grand Rapids, a brand new school building in Jenison and a 9 story Hospital tower addition in Muskegon. We held a variety of developmental and educational meetings which included a presentation on LEED certifications, Social Media & Personal Branding and “Living Neighborly” a discussion about common legal disputes between property owners. Our Chapter also held a Self-Defense workshop and a Historical walking tour of the Riverwalk in Downtown Grand Rapids. In addition to our structured meetings, we held a volunteer event at Women At Risk International, a Sip & Chip Golf Clinic with a private golf coach and to top it off we organized a couple Social Networking events at area restaurants.
Grand Rapids is proud to report that we hosted our largest WIC Week Luncheon with over 90 attendees and special guest Author Robin Marvel. This year we crowned 3 new CAD Design winners, 5 new Block Kids winners and several winners at our 3rd Annual NAWIC Golf Classic Outing.
Grand Rapids Chapter 194 is looking ahead to an exciting year. We are going outside of the box with some creative meeting topics, such as a hands-on lessons in Home Electrical and Tiling, personal improvement with negotiating skills for wages & benefits, technology demonstrations, a site tour of a new construction materials manufacturer and several more exciting meetings. Plus we will have another year of Block Kids, CAD Design and our Golf Outing.
Lastly, for anyone that was not at Forum 2018 in Detroit, I am excited to announce that Grand Rapids will be hosting Forum 2020!
